22 Nov 2024 by KreNI

Web Summit brings together +70,000 people and the companies redefining the tech industry. The biggest Europe’s tech conference, said Reuters, was held this November from 11th to 14th in the capital city of Portugal. This was also a study visit time for Kreni Startup project team. The study visit is supported by the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project, which aims to improve the performance of the cultural and creative sector in the Western Balkans.

Young Ambassadors and representatives of partner organisations spent time in Lisbon on a study visit to look for fresh best practice models and to improve their understanding of festival production and management. The visit is imagined as a study ideation visit and covers two major events in Lisbon: Portugal Tech Week and Web Summit. Our new project Kreni Startup, which aims to strengthen regional cultural exchange by co-producing the #KreNI10 conference and Startup Weekend, provided us with an opportunity to learn from the best resources. Kreni Startup project specifically addresses issues such as high youth unemployment rates and underdeveloped creative industries in the Western Balkans, it contributes to the CC4WBs project in order to empower youth, foster cultural exchange, stimulate economic growth, and build a more dynamic and sustainable entrepreneurial environment.

During the project implementation period, KreNI Startup will foster an innovative and collaborative culture, as well as boost regional growth and the creative and entrepreneurial sectors in Serbia and North Macedonia. The main objectives of the KreNI Startup project are to enhance the creative and entrepreneurial skills of young participants in Niš, Serbia, and Ohrid, North Macedonia, and to promote regional networking and collaboration between the creative and entrepreneurial communities.

Furthermore, the project will use a variety of methods to achieve its objectives, including benchmarking workshops to share experiences and best practices among the core teams of KreNI and Startup Weekend Ohird as key events, ideation study visits to gather new knowledge and build a network of potential contacts, and joint management activities to plan and implement events collaboratively. In addition, youth learning programs will focus on mentorship and leadership development, while a comprehensive digital publication will share insights and best practices. KreNI Startup is more than simply a link between two festivals; it represents everything we want to do to help the entrepreneurial community in the region.

Will we succeed?

Stay tuned…..
